Strengthened by Volunteers. The Bicentennial celebration kicks off at the Annual Reorganization Meeting and Reception at Township Hall on Tuesday, January 1st. During the month, we'll celebrate Livingston's tradition of volunteerism and honor our many hardworking volunteers at a Volunteer Fair and special Volunteer Recognition Event.

FEBRUARY

Honoring our Founders. We commemorate the signing of Livingston's Charter of Incorporation on February 5, 1813. There will be a Founder's Day observance on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Township Hall, and Governor Tom Kean will join us! Wednesday, February 27, 1:00 pm at the Senior & Community Center: Lecture: "History of Livingston" presented by Barry Evanchick, Esq.

MARCH

Getting Greener. Daffodils all over town will bloom in March to mark the coming of Livingston's Bicentennial Spring season! Thanks to the groups throughout town who planted Bicentennial Daffodils in October 2012. An Environmental Film Festival and other special programs will remind us of Livingston's "green" past and future.

APRIL

Fit and Active. This month's sports theme, coordinated by Big L and the Sports Council, will involve many local sports organizations in a celebration of athletic events and programs to celebrate the Bicentennial and our fit and active lifestyles. The first meeting day will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2013.

MAY

Healthy Community Healthy Youth (HCHY) and the Memorial Day Parade Committee are creating a fabulous 200th birthday celebration as part of Youth Appreciation Week (May 20 - 25, 2013) and the Memorial Day Parade on Monday May 27th!

JUNE

The YMCA will take us around town on June 2nd with a Bicycle Tour of Livingston. Residents can ride around town on their bicycles and enjoy seeing interesting and historical places they may not have know about in Livingston.
