National Eye Care Month

National Eye Care Month

Many people can go unaware or undiagnosed for several types of serious eye conditions. According to the American Glaucoma Society (AGS), Glaucoma “is one of the leading causes of blindness and the leading cause of preventable blindness” and may not show symptoms until the “final stages”.   The AGS reports that “at least 3 million of Americans suffer from Glaucoma” and many may not even know they have it.  Be proactive and take charge of your eye health!  Remember, screenings are very important for both monitoring and maintaining good eye health.  Screenings can help to ensure your eyes and you are as healthy as possible throughout your lifetime. Check in with the Nursing Division to see if there are any FREE screenings going on in the local area by calling 973-535-7961 X228
