Alarm System Registration Form

Ordinance No. 3-1980: Police Emergency Alarm System and Standards, Fee Procedures, Licenses, Permits and Penalties

Blue Star

This is an assistance program for a senior citizen or handicapped person living alone to register this information with the police department. In addition, a house key can be kept at headquarters or with a neighbor so that access can be gained to the individual’s residence, if needed.

Click here for the two Blue Star forms that must be completed. The forms and a house key (if desired) can be dropped off at headquarters 24 hours a day.

Vacant House Information

Livingston residents may submit a “vacant house form” when their home will be vacant for an extended period of time, such as during vacations. The vacant house program enables a police officer, during his or her normal patrol and when time permits, to check vacant houses.

Residents need to complete a few simple steps to utilize this program:

Complete the Vacant House Form and print it out
* Bring the form to Police Headquarters
* Sign a release form and attach a $1 processing fee

This can be done 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

In order to obtain a firearm, you must meet eligibility requirements and comply with the statutes which govern firearms purchases in the State of New Jersey. All firearms applications for residents of Livingston are handled through the police department’s Records Bureau. Click here for Firearms Information.
