Livingston Police Department Trading Cards

The Livingston Police Department will be issuing its fourth edition law enforcement trading cards. The cards were last produced in 2004 so now there is a new generation of children who have yet to experience the excitement of collecting the cards. On the front, the cards will feature photos of Livingston police officers performing their duties or enjoying one of their hobbies. On the reverse side, the card will have the officer’s biographical data and a safety message. The goal of this program is to reach out to as many children as possible and get the message out to them in a format in which they can identify while creating communication and trust. This program creates a productive dialogue between the community and police officers because children will be encouraged to approach an officer in order to collect the officer’s trading card. Prizes will be awarded to children in kindergarten through sixth grade who collect cards in the series, although children of all ages are encouraged to collect the cards.

The kickoff to the program will be at an open house at police headquarters. This will take place on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Children who attend will be able to meet officers and collect their cards as well as enjoy light refreshments and meet McGruff the Crime Dog.
