2018 Summer Camp Guide

Registration for Kids’ Camp for children entering grades 1-9, Fall 2018, currently underway online at Community Pass Online Registration and in person at 204 Hillside Ave., M-F. 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

Join us at our Summer Camp Open House, Thursday, March 1, 5 – 7 P.M. at LSCC – 204 Hillside Ave., lower level.

Registration for Play Pals, Preschool and Kindergarten Camp as well as Early Camp Drop Off, Last Blast Camp, afternoon Mini Camps, annual Camp Play and field trips opens Monday, March 12 at 8:30.

Kids’ Camp registration is currently underway. Remember, campers mus be enrolled in Kids’ Camp to be eligible for field trip registration on Monday, March 12.

Summer fun continues with Theater & Dance Camp and Last Blast Camp. Registration opens Monday, March 12 at 8:30 AM.

Returning for another great summer are Lancer Sports Camps conducted by Livingston High School coaching staff in conjunction with Senior, Youth & Leisure Services.

Get set for an exciting, fun and adventurous summer program designed to be a great social experience for your child!  Children will enjoy indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, cool downs, dress-up days and exciting special events!  There will be weekly swimming trips to Northland Pool and optional field trips to locations throughout New Jersey! Each week of camp will have a special theme and an all-camp special event every Friday.  There’s always “A world of fun right around the corner!” at Livingston Kids’ Camp.

Leaders- In- Training Program Grade 8, Fall 2018.
The LIT Program is a progressive, experiential, education course designed to help young people develop their awareness and basic skills of youth leadership while enjoying a summer camp experience. LIT’s will work with our camp staff and the group to establish positive team building skills and  to learn how to implement team building and teamwork in a group setting. LIT’s will learn how to set up and plan group activities for camp. They will have the opportunity to shadow CIT’s and  counselors on a daily basis. LIT’s will have the opportunity to have the full kids camp experience as well as learning teamwork and volunteer skills.


Counselor-In-Training Program Grade 9,  Fall 2018.
Participants in the CIT Program will have the opportunity to learn how to work with children at Livingston Kids’ Camp held at Heritage Middle School, Kindergarten or Preschool Camp held at Monmouth Court Community Center, or the Play Pals program at the Senior/Community Center.  CIT’s will work with our camp staff learning how to establish a positive environment for youth. Training will include how to work with children in a group setting and how to set up and manage a schedule of daily activities.  All CIT’s will receive CPR and AED Training provided by the Livingston Police Department.


Afternoon Mini Camps
Seven weeks of adventurous projects, crafts and fun for children in grades 1-7!
Summer Mini-Camps will be held Monday through Friday 3:00 – 6:00 pm at the Senior/Community Center located at 204 Hillside Avenue.  Participants will be provided with a light snack and beverage daily.  Each week features a different theme designed to keep children of all ages fully involved.  Children enrolled in both Kids’ Camp and Mini-Camps will be escorted from Kids’ Camp to the Mini-Camps by our staff.  No pick-up required! Please provide a snack and beverage for your child, SYLS will provide a special peanut free snack every Friday.  2017 Mini Camps dates: June 25 – August 10.

Kindergarten Camp
For children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2018.
Join us for a summer of games, crafts, special events and themed weekly adventures! Our friendly staff will introduce campers to new activities that will challenge their imaginations and bring out the fun in everyone! Camp is a great place to meet new friends before the school year! Registration fees include either a half day from 9:15am– 12:15pm (no lunch) or a full day 9:15am– 2:30pm. Full day Kindergarten campers will eat lunch from 12:45– 1:15pm. All daily  activities, special events and a camp t-shirt are included. Camp meets M-F, rain or shine!

 Preschool Camp
Grades: For children ages 3-4 years old. (DOB 10/01/13- 09/30/14)
Preschoolers will love this introductory camp experience. Children will be engaged in daily activities that will stimulate their imaginations and introduce them to many new exciting group activities. There will be playground time, arts and crafts, special events and so much more. Registration fees include either a half day from 9:15am– 12:15pm (no lunch) or a full day 9:15am– 2:30pm. Full day Preschool campers will eat lunch from 12:15– 12:45pm. All daily activities, special events and a camp t-shirt are included. Camp meets M–F, rain or shine!

Play Pals

For two and early three year olds! (DOB 10/01/14 – 09/30/15)
Designed for twos and threes, this camp is a great  socialization experience for your  toddler. Children will participate in daily crafts, story time, songs outdoor playground play and free play inside the classroom. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to meet new friends. During the final week of camp we’ll also have a small pool party at Northland Pool. A parent or caregiver will be required to attend the pool party. Pool membership is not required for this event. Children will be divided into 3 groups in each of the 3 classrooms. Drop off and pick up will be in the preschool wing in your child’s assigned classroom.

From Here to Broadway!  Theatre and Dance Camp

2018 Camp Dates: August 13 – 24.
Livingston Senior Youth and Leisure Services is bringing New York level dance and theater training to New Jersey! Our two week intensive program is a great opportunity for all children to dance, sing and act in a comfortable, non-intimidating environment. Training will focus on ballet, tap, jazz, and Broadway musical theatre repertoire along with introduction to vocal technique, song interpretation, monologue, scene study and improvisation. Children will be grouped by age and ability. Please pack a lunch, snacks and bring a water bottle.

The program will finish with a Cabaret Show for parents and friends on Friday, August 24.
