Poster Competition for LYCS Peer Leaders and Community Leaders Club members – deadline April 20

LYCS Poster Competition: Call for entries

Open to: LYCS Peer Leaders Club and LYCS Community Leaders Club members

Topic: Stop Distracted Driving

Deadline: April 20, 2015

In 2012, 3,328 people were killed and 421,000 were injured in distraction-affected crashes (National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, VTTI).  In a call for action, LYCS Leaders middle and high school Club members are invited to create a poster (22″ x 28″) that warns about the dangers of distracted driving.  Students may use any materials (e.g., markers, pencils, collage, mixed media, digital representation) to create their poster.  Distracted driving may come in many forms from texting, having too many people in the car, smoking marijuana, drinking, eating, applying make-up etc… All are equally dangerous when driving a car.

12 wining designs will be chosen from all submissions.  Students may enter as many designs as they want on different aspects of distracted driving.

Winning designs will be featured in an ad campaign, published online, and exhibited in the foyer at the Senior/Community Center (204 Hillside Ave).  Artists will be invited to an opening exhibition event and will be awarded a Certificate of Recognition.

Please drop off your posters to Susan Ridley, Program Supervisor – Community Services at the Senior/Community Center or email a JPEG of the design to sridley@livingstonnj.org
