Registration is now OPEN for 2014 – 2015 LYCS Leaders After-school Programs.
All programs start in October and run through May, with End of Year parties in June. Elementary Class Schedules: 2:40-3:40 pm at the school
Evening Programs: 5:30 – 7:00 pm at Monmouth Court Community Center (26 Monmouth Ct)
PEER LEADERS CLUB (Gr 6, 7, & 8)
COMMUNITY LEADERS CLUB (Gr 9, 10, 11, & 12)
Elementary programs (Gr. 1 and 2 Young Leaders and Gr. 3, 4, and 5 Leaders) meet at their school 2:40 – 3:40 pm, once a month.
Young Leaders - Grades 1 and 2: Fee $80. Students are taught social, emotional, and leadership skills in a fun, educational program that is age appropriate. The program includes topics on making friends, self-esteem, communication and listening skills. Snacks are provided.
Leaders – Grades 3, 4 and 5: Fee $80. This is a fun, educational program that addresses different topics each month and includes recreation time. Students are taught different skills including listening, communication, self-esteem, responsibility, respect and teamwork. Snacks are provided.
Evening Programs (Grade 5 Leaders Club, Peer Leaders, and Peer to Peer) meet at Monmouth Court Community Center (26 Monmouth Ct), 5:30-7:00 pm, once a month.
Grade 5 Leaders Club: Fee $80. There is a core curriculum and students choose additional topics of interest to them. Recreation takes place in the game room at Monmouth Court. Pizza and refreshments are provided.
Peer Leaders Club - Grades 6, 7, and 8: Fee $80. Peer Leaders choose topics of interest, participate in community service, Adopt-a-Charity and Weekend Leadership Camp. Recreation takes place in the game room at Monmouth Court. Pizza and refreshments are provided.
Community Leaders Club – Grades 9, 10, 11, and 12: Fee $80. This is a community leadership program that provides high school students with opportunities to work with and mentor younger students including those with special needs. Students are provided with training on presentation skills, facilitating groups, and coordinating community-based programs. Students in this program are expected to be positive role models in the community and are committed to an ATOD-free lifestyle (Alcohol, Tobacco & Other Drugs. This program provides excellent experience in community programming which can enhance any college application. Students decide topics of interest, community service, and have an opportunity to participate in cross-age teaching, leadership training, and Weekend Leadership Camp (date TBA).
Dance Academy Open House August 13th from 6-7:30 PM at Northland Recreation Center. Visit our dance studio & enjoy performances.
